I am Josef Langston, my style of painting is Impressionist, my favorite medium is Oil, I favor canvas. I am better in painting protraits, I enjoy Western Landscapes, Still Lifes, and Western Art.
I paint what I find interesting in my life, be the mountains in front of my house, around Anthony Gap, Cloudcroft, or Oro Grande. A Classical Guitar Player playing his guitar with such ease producing beautiful music. I also enjoy painting the old Indian Missions and also Saints. God knows I'm no saint, far from it but, I've always been in awe of these persons whom history has recorded and their deeds.
I've always heard of the,"Five Living Saints" God required to exist on earth to allow us to keep on exisiting. In my life time these are the five I've known about in my lifetime, and Pope John Paul II knew them and used them at one time or another.
I have a few Artist friends I have painted with for almost 8 or 10 years at this senior center, great artist and friends. They have helped me when ever my VFW have asked me to do a mural for them, or paint some boulders with military history, or paint the six Paratroopers who jumped into Normandy on D- Day, from El Paso from the 82d Airborne Chapter.
I also use my artist friends to sketch Soldiers or their family members for the "Wounder Warriors" program and the Orphan childrens partys on Easter and Christmas parties the VFW Post 812 has every year. Ha, I guess I get by with a little help from my Friends, and these are award winning friends to boot.
