The America Indian, I've always been drawn to their history, From Geromino, Crasy Horse, to many to name, they were the Generals, Leaders, that even now we could learn from. Even their rock paintings had storys to tell, when to to plant, when to move to summer or winter camps, to learn the dangers in the area.

Living in the West, southwest to be exact, we have the cattle ranches, the Indian Pubelos, the mountains, and everything in between. The wonderful mexican Adobe houses and pottery, colorful dress, and the Indian tribes all around us in El Paso. From high desert, to the pines and mountains of Cloudcroft. From our catus flowers to our beautiful birds with all their brillant colors, to the wild flowers of the desert, the Franklin ,our rock mountains, to the pine covered montains with their wild life and colorful plant life.
We have the history to draw from, Pancho Villa, Black Jack Pershing, Fort Bliss, The Tiguas, Old West Gunfighters, Mining Ghost Towns, Everything is here to be painted.

Here is where we all start our training, but to me it's a beautiful and difficult art to master. Everyone knows what flowers and fruit looks like, so there is test, if it passes, you've sold a painting, if not, back to the drawing board. I enjoy painting so to me, everyone of mine are masterpieces. If someone buys one of my paintings, it makes me happy that some one out there likes my work good enough to buy it. That's what it's all about, not fame or riches. Like the indian's say, I have what I need, what I don't have, I don't need.

Religion, From the Virgion of Guadalupe, the Shoud of Turbin, they claim we have the picture of the Virgin Mary and the picture of Jesus, wow, in Padre Pio, Mother Teresa, and Pope John Paul we have our living Saints in our times. I know I have painted countless paintings of the Virgin Mary for friend in need, or persons that asked me for them, I have Padre Pio several times for my self.

Protraits, I've alway being blessed with the ability to capture a likeness in minutes, so it's been my strong point in art. If you look at the masters of old, it seems like in just a few brush mark, they have the image, but it's years of practice that gives that illusion.
Caravaggio has been the standard bearer in the creation of Art, everyone since has tryed to copy him. In modern times, David Laffel is the nearest one to the old masters style.
I don't compare myself to them, but I do enjoy putting my brush to the canvass, Here is the sum total of my efforts.

The Landscape to me is the one subject everyone understands, maybe a place they grew up in, a place they'd like to go to, a place they'd like to remember, a place to excape to. Be it the cool mountains, the hot desert, the fishing hole, their hunting grounds, So many things to so many people, everyone has there own heavens.
